Community members can nominate for Deputy Chair and Committee Member positions on the RDAFCW Committee.
On 10 April 2018, the Minister for Regional Development, Territories and Local Government the Hon Dr John McVeigh MP has appointed Mr Grant Cassidy as the Chair of the Regional Development Australia Fitzroy and Central West Queensland Committee. Applications are now open for the Deputy Chair and Committee member positions on the RDAFCW Committee. People with commitment to economic development, vision, drive and experience who are able to foster strong communication between local communities and all levels of government are encouraged to submit an application.
The Deputy Chair and Committee members are volunteer positions which provide input into strategic direction setting, contribute to reviewing progress in achieving objectives and outcomes, and oversee the effectiveness of governance processes within the Committee. Like the Chair, they also have a hands-on, active role in facilitating economic development opportunities for the region. The Chair appoints the Deputy Chair and members after agreement is provided from the minister responsible for regional development (the Minister).
