National Cabinet encourages Australians to download the COVIDSafe app. This app is part of the Australian Government’s work to slow the spread of COVID-19.
The COVIDSafe app helps find close contacts of COVID-19 cases. The app helps state and territory health officials to quickly contact people who may have been exposed to COVID-19.
The COVIDSafe app speeds up the current manual process of finding people who have been in close contact with someone with COVID-19. This means that people can be contacted more quickly if you are at risk. This reduces the chances of the virus being passed onto family members, friends and other people in the community.
Downloading the app is voluntary, but it is something that all Australians can do to protect ourselves, our family and friends, and save lives.
The app is now available from the Apple App Store and Google Play. Further information is available on the Department of Health website. Information about COVID-19 and the COVIDSafe app is available in 63 languages on the Department of Home Affairs website.
