Drought Support Community Initiative

The Australian Government will provide $30 million in support to drought-affected households through the Drought Community Support Initiative.

Support under the initiative consists of up to $3,000 per household, comprising up to $2,000 in cash and $1,000 in vouchers. Farmers, farm workers and farm suppliers/contractors facing hardship due to drought in the 81 eligible Local Government Areas under the Drought Communities Programme Extension can receive this assistance.

The Government has engaged the Salvation Army, St Vincent de Paul Society and Rotary Australia World Community Service to deliver the initiative. Households should contact these organisations directly through phone numbers and websites below to access financial support and further information:
