National Soil Science Challenge open for new project applications

The National Soil Science Challenge is accepting applications for new projects for up to $5 million in total funding over 4 years.
The grants are part of the National Soil Strategy that sets out how Australia will value, manage and improve its soil for the next 20 years.
The program is aimed at research organisations and projects that add to Australia’s soil health knowledge and addresses one of the following research priorities:
- soil carbon dynamics
- soil hydrology
- soil biology and nutrients
- soil/root interface.
Applications close: 9:00pm AEDT 14 February 2022
