Rockhampton Regional Council – environment and sustainability grants program

Rockhampton Regional Council has established a new grants scheme to support community-led environment and sustainability initiatives. Applicants may apply through the Environment and Sustainability Scheme of the Community Assistance Program for grants of up to $3,000.
The first funding round opens on 04 February 2019. If you’d like to hear more, please come along to the information session on Monday 04 February from 4pm-5pm at the Rockhampton Library.
Eligible projects may include initiatives that:
- Protect, maintain and enhance our natural environment including:
* Community education and awareness activities that increase the community’s understanding and value of our natural environment;
* Works projects that improve native habitat, riparian corridors and waterways; or
* Conservation of native flora or fauna species.
- Strengthen our community capacity to live sustainably including:
* Community education and awareness activities that increase the community’s understanding of local environmental sustainability issues, impacts and opportunities;
* Capacity-building workshops and events;
* Targeted energy, water or waste efficiency programs; or
* Practical community projects.
