USQ Education Summit: Attracting and Retaining Teachers in Regional, Rural and Remote areas.

4 November, 2019

With the critical shortage of teachers across the state, and the knowledge that things are going to get worse, the situation in rural and remote regions is dire as teachers, particularly in certain disciplines, will be able to pick and choose their destinations more than ever in the past.

All students have a right to a high quality education and equity of opportunity to learn and succeed. The first step in the process is ensuring that we have high quality teachers capable of thriving in diverse contexts.

Come and join us to plan cross-community collaborations to attract and retain teachers committed to teaching in regional, rural and remote contexts. USQ’s School of Education wants to work with you to plan ways that we can more effectively prepare pre-service teachers for diverse placements, and plan ways to better work with communities to establish sustainable rural education pathways.
